Good fat is provided by olive oil, known to control blood cholesterol level and maintaining a healthy heart. All these suggested in the Mediterranean diet plan matches with a standard diet guideline. The food intake is balanced by an active physical life. This is not to say that people in the Mediterranean region did not find time to rest. In fact, they utilized the time after every meal to relax and socialize, unconsciously giving time for proper digestion and good health.
